Objective

This course aims to provide you with the concepts and philosophies behind strategic planning, as well as the methods, techniques, and tools required to develop and execute a successful strategic plan.   • Assess organizational readiness for strategic planning, develop a strategic planning group, and establish foundational elements like vision and mission statements that align with strategic management principles.
  • Analyse internal and external environments, including organizational culture, structure, and the competitive landscape, using tools such as Value Chain Analysis (VCA) and the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM), to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Prioritize strategies, allocate resources, and create effective schedules for strategic implementation, utilizing process improvement techniques and models like PDCA to ensure successful execution.
  • Design and implement an evaluation plan that includes stakeholder information needs, data collection methods, and reporting strategies to assess the impact and effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
  • Apply strategic management concepts and methodologies, including Porter's Five Generic Strategies and the Strategic Selection Method, to real-world scenarios, enhancing the ability to effectively formulate, implement, and evaluate strategic plans.
